The Greatest Guitar Songbook

I’m a beginner and have found this book brilliant. Having learned several chords I wanted to move into tab reading. Then sight reading. This book has a few songs on each skill base area. More often than not it’s accurate when following chords tabs or notes to the letter with just a few adjustments needed. Blackbird was good fun and Jesu joy and gave my teacher and me plenty of scope to introduce skills and consolidate. Still working through it. I don’t like all of the songs but that’s personal choice. Tabs are well written. Some of the fingerpicking recommendations are a bit basic but they work. Do look in the back for picking and strumming patterns. A good exercise. Get this book and happy playing!Is there another book 2 out there?

Has lots of great songs to play.Maybe like 200 pages, so reallyWorth your money.

This is a great book to have as a guitar student because it consists of many songs to choose from to play. It displays the chord charts for each song to refer to instead of memorizing the finger position for each chord.

This book has more than enough music at different levels to keep you going for quite awhile. It includes, notation and guitar tabs as well as picking and strumming patterns. The music is broken up into different technique segments which makes it easy to focus on one technique at a time. Great song selection and a great source for music as you learn the guitar. I use a music stand and because the book is fairly thick I was worried the back would break when I opened it fully but no problems, the binding appears to be quite flexible.

I'm not sure how to rate this book as it is a bit of a mixture. It contains several sections, each of which are different. The first section contains 8 complete songs with melody line, tab and chords (No chord boxes. The second section has 28 tunes including classical arranged with melody line, lyrics, tab and chords (with chord boxes. The third section has 30 popular songs arranged with melody, lyrics and chords (with chord boxes).The fourth section has 4 songs arranged for piano with tab and lyrics and chords (No chord boxes) The fifth section has 6 classical guitar pieces with melody line, tab and chords. The sixth section has 5 fingerstyle guitar pieces with melody line, tab chords and lyrics. The final section has 19 famous riffs as melody and tab. There are 2 final sections on strum and pick patterns and guitar notation. Something for everyone here I reckon.
