I felt so connected to Mel and all her reviews, testimonies and tweets she shared it this book. I felt I am not alone in this world who struggle on things. Not only I found my courage to pursue my life and dreams again but I also found a golden rule which almost fixes everything. For any problems I life, now I just go 5…4…3…2…1…GO!!! The 5 Second Rule è un libro molto interessante che prova ad aiutare chi sente il bisogno di riprendere in mano la propria vita. Chi si sente demotivato, imprigionato in un lavoro che non lo soddisfa, chi ha problemi di autostima o ha il brutto vizio di procrastinare (eccomi!) può trovare degli utili consigli su come uscire dalla situazione in cui si trova e avere il coraggio di essere ciò che vuole essere.Certo, non è un libro che fa miracoli. E lo sa. Nessun libro può farlo. Ma al suo interno vi sono numerosi spunti di riflessione su noi stessi e su chi ci circonda, consigli su come scuotersi e gestirsi al meglio.Chi crede che leggendo questo libro troverà la risposta alla vita, l'universo e tutto quanto probabilmente ne resterà deluso. Bisogna tenere sempre presente che testi del genere non si vogliono porre come leggi universali, servono solo a mostrare una situazione, un problema, la vita da una prospettiva diversa da quella in cui siamo "incastrati" e che ci sembra essere l'unica possibile per noi.Una cosa importante che l'autrice ci tiene a ripetere - che sembrerebbe banale eppure spesso dimentichiamo - è che la vita è una sola e non è proprio il caso di sprecarla.Nelle pagine, inoltre, sono disseminate numerosissime testimonianze di persone a cui le conferenze dell'autrice hanno aperto la mente e dato la spinta di cui avevano bisogno per riprendere il controllo di sé: è semplice ma non facile.

The book is actually an eye opener and of one really has the concentration to stop and count done it is actually saving time, pain and suffering in many occasion where someone would like to burst out. Saving time also in reflecting and acting immediately where necessary. It is a great book and Mel Robbins is an example how one can begin every day to become a better version of oneself.

I've discovered the book thanks to Mel Robbins TED keynote. Appreciated all the real life examples, however the book could have been concentrated in few chapters including mostly the 5secondrule and the research and dynamics behind it. Worth reading an abstract of it. Watching Mel's videos Ilis more than sufficient to understand how the rule works and get an idea of many cases where it has been applied. Not sure whether I would buy it again.

In pratica, la spiegazione delle regola richiede, a essere gentili, una pagina. Tutte le altre 239 sono piene di testimonianze di clienti felici. Il che va bene, se non mi fai pagare il libro!
