If you have the appropriate small rig bracket that allows you to mount the audio top handle from an FX 3 to an A7 body, this particular small rig extension handle kit will fit onto the A7 cameras. You’ll need to remove the handle from the bracket first as the extension kit bracket doesn’t just slide over and into place if the handle is already mounted to the bracket. But once that’s done, the fit is snug and secure .

If you try to add this with the plate, the bracket that wraps around the handle will not clear the adapter plate affixed to the cage unless you force it. It will fit if you force it to, and you will be able to screw everything in, but the handle will pull your hot shoe upward and will sit at an angle. That guy is ruining his camera.

Bought the handle extension first time around. After building my rig I noticed that the FX3 handle was under a lot of stress. Got this handle extension and it transfered the stress of weight to the 2 bolts and the camera case. Way way better and best for ur fx3 rig once u add all the extras like external monitor shotgun mic and cage etc. Love this extension and the way it mounts.

Premessa: uso questa maniglia con l’adattatore per a7iv.La maniglia di Sony ha una pecca il materiale, il grip corto e pochi punti di fissaggio, il modello precedente di smallrig ovviava al problema del grip e punti, ma non alla flessione leggera del tutto, ora che abbiamo quel collare non flette più nulla anzi devo dire probabilmente in Sony si mangiano le mani visto quanto con poco si migliora il tutto. Ora nota dolente il colore, ho tre tonalità smallrig tra cage quessta prolunga e monitor mount ma per il resto solo positivo🔥

I took a gamble with this extension plate. I wasn't sure it would fit as nothing in the description states whether or not it will. I'm happy to report that it does!This is one of those mods you need just for piece of mind. It makes the rather fragile plastic neck of the XLR handle that little bit more sturdy. Mine flexed quite a bit any time I made an adjustment to the monitor I have mounted, but now that flex is all but eliminated.Simple to install, light weight, and just does what it's made to do.
