A 10 star product!I wanted to remove the shock absorber from a 13 year old car, which is clamped to the steering knuckle by a 4" long bolt. After the usual spray of penetrative oil, I tried a 15mm socket but that rounding off the nut, and the spanner slipped off too. I filled down edges to get a better purchase on a 14mm spanner, but that also slipped. I tried centre-punching the bolt, and then tapping it around, that didn't work. I tried the same technique with a chisel, but that only gouged out the bolt further.I found these on Amazon, and was dubious because of the reviews, but purchased anyway - what more could I lose. They arrived the next day, I gently tapped the #7 15mm bit on the bolt head, and attached a 22mm socket to the largest wrench I own, and cranked it. To my surprise - and utter delight! The bolt started turning, with relative ease (in proportion to the pressure required). This product works, and without a doubt is now the most useful bit of kit in my toolbox. Along with the steering knuckle bolt it removed, it also cracked the rusted seal on the tie-rod ends; a job that otherwise would have taken more time to remove. There is one consideration, the bits are quite short, maybe 1/2", and would sink into the 22mm socket I was using before making a purchase. I overcame this simply by wedging some cardboard in the socket before the bit. It then worked a like a charm! I'm not removing a star for this, as it's not a fault, just ensure this is considered and that the product is suitable for the job at hand before criticising it.Overview: The most useful damaged bolt remover tool / technique I've ever used - bar none! This is a must, and no I've not been given these at a discount to review nor am I employed by Silverline. These are that good, and have saved me time and money. Get a set! Just remember the short bit-depth.
