Portraits in Jazz: A piano album

loved this book and the range of styles of the pieces … a black blind composer and pianist - so impressed with her kudos, her chops, and her connections which allowed her to really reflect their personalities My students have also enjoyed playing though the tunes !

This is a wonderful collection of jazz compositions written especially for classically trained pianists. It honors some of the great artists in the history. It's a joy to play.

I returned to piano lessons just under a year ago and will shortly be retaking my Grade 3. This book was recommended by my piano teacher and I have to say I love it. The pieces are graded from about 2 up to 6 so there is lots to challenge me! It also comes with a CD which is very useful. I never thought I would play Jazz Music having been classically trained originally but I love this arrangements.
