Appears well built, but the long edge measurement scales are both in inches. The metric scale is only on the thin edges. Realistically the two edges should have one side metric and the other side as inches.

Standard nautical nav plotter. You can spin the center part around to have the variation so you don't have to do the math in your head. The only thing slightly confusing is that it would appear to me that the variation scale is labeled exactly backward, but if you think about it, it's easy to set it right.

I was disturbed by the listed price for this Liquidraw Portland Plotter. While half the price of another one, it struck me as excessive "for a piece of plastic".I already owned one which was yellowing and scuffed up. It was made out of soft rather flimsy plastic.When the Liquidraw arrived I immediately saw the difference. THICK, CRYSTAL CLEAR acrylic. I big solid central pivot, The material must be triple the thickness of my original. This will last a lifetime. Well worth the price.
