Screw sticks out a little at the bottom.Size does NOT 100% fit the A6500, thus is a little loose.

I ordered this to protect my a6500 from Day 1 and I installed it even before I powered the camera on for the first time. Very happy with this purchase and price point even though I paid a few extra dollars for same-day delivery.There is one angle that is not shown in the product images (attached). This is the top-down view when the case is installed. There is a 5 mm gap between the camera grip and the leather case. For my hands, it is right at the point where my middle finger wraps around the grip. At first I thought this gap would bother me for aesthetic, quality control reasons. However, it's not an issue at all. I found that the very slight springy-ness created by that gap provides a grippier, more secure hold on the camera. After the first 5 seconds that gap didn't bother me a bit and in fact I have come to appreciate it.On the item I received, the screw to attach the case to the camera was off-vertical by a minuscule amount that didn't allow it to thread smoothly. I didn't want to cross-thread it and damage the camera but I found that by backing that screw out as much as possible, I was able to get it to bite in the camera's threads and set itself firmly. Just be cautious so you don't scratch your camera while putting on a protective case!Looks: 10/10. I enjoy style points and this half-case delivers. I'm sure it will look good even after it gathers some scuffs and other character markings from regular use. I wanted a slightly darker color, but the only high quality alternative I saw in dark brown was priced at over $100. I met friends for coffee and brought my camera this morning and got a lot of compliments on it. I love the mix of the hi tech and organic textures in this combination.This simple add-on creates extra pride of ownership in your a6500. I would recommend this product.

Fits the a6500 and the grip itself appears to be good quality and you can still access the battery door. I just feel it could fit around the hand grip a little tighter, there is a reasonable sized gap at the front. Just in case you are thinking to buy this for the a6400 don't do it. The a6400 has a larger battery door and you won't be able to open it with this grip attached. I've tried it on mine.
