La Folia 1490-1701

The folias seem to be improvised dances from the Iberian peninsula, however later on it seemed to settle into a particular theme. However, the subject is complicated and I am no expert. Later on this theme seems to be widely adopted by baroque composer - Bach in Peasant Cantata, Handel, Vivladi etc, and was even used by Vangelis in the theme for Conquest of Paradise. This cd covers the early part of this development, with his Savall's usual skill and enthusiasm. I particularly like the Corelli- I recognised this, and went back listening to the early pieces and doing a comparison!

このCDもFMラジオで聞いて良かったので調べました。がやはり、廃盤になっておりましたが、メンバー交代後に再録音したみたいに書かれており、たぶん同じなんじゃないかと思い購入しました。なにしろ日本語の曲やメンバーの解説じゃないので、まったく曲紹介はわかりませんが、ラジオで一回しか聴いてなかったですが、同じだと思いました。とても気に入りました。この曲の中でカスタネットが効果的で好きです。ただ公共の放送局はライブラリーが多いせいか、もう廃盤になった曲も時々かかり、なかなか購入できないのもあります。がいい曲に巡り合うこともあります。

Aujourd'hui nous avons la pop et le jazz qui sont nos musiques contemporaines, mais un petit saut dans le temps nous fait découvrir par la magie de Jordi Savall et de ses amis musiciens ce qui était la pop de 1490 à 1701. L'Europe latine (France, Italie, Espagne et Portugal) dansait et écoutait des mélodies savamment construites et qui aujourd'hui encore valent bien de nombreuses écoutes et leurs redécouvertes. Très beau livret parfaitement documenté et parfaite qualité des gravures Alia Vox.
