A great monograph on John Pawson's work. Great pictures, drawings, and details.

This is an El Croquis, so it is targeted primarily to professional architects. Thus, it presents the best documented and most comprehensive monograph on John Pawson's projects but might forgo the tangential biographical information or vacuous theoretical musings so beloved by casual readers. These are the books of reference level, really - they exemplify the mantra once expressed by my architecture professor - "-do not talk about what you intended to do, talk about what you did". And there is no better way to talk about what Pawson did then simply document his projects with proper plans, sections, elevations and details. The book itself is about 1 3/4" or 4 centimeters thick (i.e., the width of two typical non-monograph volumes of El Croquis) and is equal to the size and width of other recent monographs of El Croquis of David Chipperfield and Aires Mateus. In other words, this is a heavy, hefty, and pricey tome of suitably large format, immaculately arranged and well-published. A must to own for any architect desiring of a reference-level book on Pawson, but again, probably not meant for a casual reader with only a passing interest in architecture. Hope this helps! Cheers!!
