I got this 3 years ago to poke around easing back into archery after taking a 25 year long hiatus while my family grew and moved on. Little did I know at that time how much I would end up loving this cheap recurve bow! Now 3 years and a lot of learning later and other than ordering a set of stouter limbs and re tuning the set up for hunting, I have absolutely no desire to replace this sweetheart with any other bow. If you are thinking about getting into recurve archery, I can humbly but with a whole heart recommend this one! Are there "better" bows out there? Probably. But not at this price point or even close to it IMO. 3 years later and still 100% satisfied, and I am a very picky person.

I'm a beginner and I love this bow. The riser feels good in my hand. The riser and limbs are made very well. I am right-handed, but since I'm left eye dominant I got a left-handed bow.I went with 25 pound draw limbs, but love that I can buy higher pound limbs as I gain strength and correct form.

Response from Robert Wesley, user of the purchase. The Sage model is tillered well but the lowest available draw weight (25) is too much for my beginner student (age10) 15 LBS AT 24 INS IS needed. Bob Wesley, Whispering Pines Archery weshood@aol.com

I am just starting with archery, so take a grain of salt with my review! The takedown system is great; I bought an Easton pack to store the disassembled bow in, for easy transport. If you are NEW to archery and looking at one of these, please bear in mind the following: DON'T just stick on the adhesive pads this comes with for the shelf, and center protection. They are a real pain in the neck to clean off if it turns out you don't want to use them. If you are going to shoot with arrows that have feathered vanes, shooting from the shelf is ideal and you probably want to use the pads, BUT! If you get arrows with plastic vanes, get an arrow rest instead.I was inclined to four-star it because of the lack of clarity in the instruction inserts about the shelf pads, but because the bow has been wonderful to shoot with, and because the initial delivery and condition in which it was shipped was very satisfying, I'm 5'ing.

This was my first bow. I ordered the left handed 25# version. Mine came disassembled and included the string, two Velcro strips (the soft sides) to use on the arrow shelf, and a brass nock point for the string, but it didn't come with a bow stringer, which turns out to be the recommended way to string a recurve bow.The bow looks pretty nice. The riser has a few minor dings, but overall it's in good condition, the limbs are nice, but get a little rough at the tips.I don't have anything to compare it to since this is my first experience with Archery, but I'm pretty happy with it. I think I should have gotten heavier limbs as this seems a little too light after a few days of shooting it.
