Works on multiple devices. Has more animated details on my automotive device than on my handheld. Am finding many dirt roads omitted on my device. These are roads that were established long before the map was published and expected to see them on my trail rides. Also the animated terrain only shows when traveling in certain directions, and displays basic map when traveling in other directions. Lastly... Doesn't read which road you're traveling, only which direction...
Just telling it like it is.

I hadn't used my Garmin Dakota 20 outside of Texas so the only mapping was 24000:1 (good detail in Big Bend and the Davis Mountains). Ordered the 100000:1 to get Olympic National Park and Mt. Rainier. Everything seems good. Note that the map is on a micro chip attached to the SDHC adapter in the package. I could have read the instructions (what? read?) but had to dummy out and ask someone. Duh.

Based on other reviews, I purchased this Map card for off road hiking trails. Not so much.

I am using the Garmin 60csx and the microSD card plugs right in but you cannot retrieve the map. After speaking w/ Garmin it requires downloading an interface or you can buy the DVD/CD version and transfer from a PC to the unit. Very frustrating that although the GPS unit has a microSD slot the maps are not automatically readable.

I am a geocacher who relies heavily on my trusty Garmin eTrex Vista HCx and Topo maps. In the past, I've had to install the Topo maps on my computer and transfer partial chunks of the map to the eTrex as needed, based on limitations of map and microSD card size in the eTrex firmware. When this map arrived, I was surprised to find that it was a 4 GB microSD card featuring the entire map. As I feared, it didn't work at all in my eTrex. I nearly returned it in frustration before considering the possibility that a firmware update had been made available. Behold ... the latest eTrex firmware added support for larger cards and maps! After a quick update, the map is functioning perfectly. There's not much need to update topographical annually, so a preloaded card seems like the perfect option. I have not encountered any particular glitches or oddities with the map data, and having the whole map at my disposal is much more convenient than working with smaller portions from the Topo DVD.Thumbs up from me.
