Bought this half expecting it to give me loads of hassle. Audi's endless list of different MMIs versions and head units meant I had to do a ton of research, but the buying guide on this listing is correct if you follow it, and I just went off the radio name and visual appearance as they suggest.Removing the heating controls, air vent and CD changer head unit is a bit of a faff but with the correct trim tools and following some of the very good Youtube vids it's actually fairly simple. The device just plugs straight in and I found that even without an aux socket on my car the aux source is available once fitted (not sure if it was as only used CD or SD card before.) so just selected that, paired up on my phone and hey presto all working. No coding needed - just select aux as source when in CD mode instead of CD.There's plenty of room at the back of the unit but obviously the wire looms are fairly stiff so you have to be quite careful to stuff everything back in without snagging. I chose to use a sticky tab to stick the bluetooth module to the top metal casing in the hope of it acting as a heat-sink.So once paired up it started playing and was impressed with the sound quality, levels and also signal quality when no music playing. It's clean with no hiss or noise and no interference from the engine so I'm very pleased about that. I was also pleasantly surprised to see I could skip tracks forward and backwards using the steering control too (the buttons on the head unit don't work but when driving I wouldn't use them anyway)Early days user so can't report on reliability. So the reason this only gets 4 stars is thus. The track names won't display, but that's probably becasue of a limitation of the head unit and not the device. Thirdly when you skip tracks the sceen on the driver's display automatically changes mode from the digital speedo etc. which means you have to hit the mode button each time to change it back. It's only a minor niggle, but after years of wishing I had bluetooth on my car I can now say this does the trick wonderfully and I'm more annoyed I didn't find this device a few years back! Thank you BlueMusic!
