I will say, straight away, that I used this for an alternative use.That said, I picked this to repair a hole in a black vinyl riding lawn mower cover. I chose it because it is listed as for outdoor use and also because it didn’t require the heat of an iron to set it. You can’t use heat on vinyl or it will melt. These patches are the self-adhesive, peel & stick type.The holes I was repairing were approx 1/2” and 1/4” around, respectively and less than 2” apart.I cleaned the areas before placing the patches to remove any dirt or residue.I used the two round patches as they were, without cutting or trimming. I put one on the inside and one on the outside.They seemed to stick ok but I found I could kind of raise the edge rather easily. This concerns me a little but only time will tell. Because they are black, the repair doesn’t show very much. The texture looks like trampoline material as I guess it should.I sort of expected the adhesive to be stronger but, perhaps will get better with sunlight or outdoor summer heat.I remove and replace the cover each time I cut the lawn so it will be under a lot of handling over the season.They are relatively inexpensive. I would surmise if using on a trampoline, it would depend on how large the hole is and where it’s located. I don’t know that these would last too long if the damage is right where the jumping takes place.
